Monique Henderson, Executive Director

The Helping Hands Ministry-Hobbs is delighted to present our founder and Executive Director, Monique Henderson. Monique is a talented individual who is deeply passionate about serving God’s kingdom. She has a long-standing commitment to aiding those in need and advocating for the voiceless. From her early years, she has been devoted to helping others. With a background as a care coordinator and a bachelor’s degree in psychology, focusing on mental health and counseling, she finds joy in teaching, empowering others, writing, cooking, and cherishing family time. Monique is an accomplished author of five books, including one for children. She is a dedicated wife and mother to three sons: Christopher, who is in Heaven, Jeff Jr., and Corwin.

Mission Statement

The Helping Hands Ministry-Hobbs was founded in November 2023 by Monique Henderson, who is the non-profit’s Executive Director. The mission of the organization, as stated by Monique, is to serve the underserved communities in Hobbs, New Mexico, and its surrounding areas. The Helping Hands Ministry-Hobbs aims to support economically vulnerable families by providing hope, encouragement, and prayers to foster a more stable and sustainable way of life. Monique Henderson, the Executive Director, earned a bachelor’s degree in psychology and is adept at setting goals and helping others establish healthy boundaries. As a woman of faith, Monique is passionate and dedicated to serving God’s children and aiding the homeless, impoverished, ill, hungry, oppressed, and those who have lost their way, fulfilling God’s vision for her and the ministry, as stated in Matthew 25:36-40. Monique is grateful for God’s calling to conduct His work through The Helping Hands Ministry-Hobbs, with the support of her husband and son who collaborate with her from beginning to end. The Helping Hands Ministry is tax-exempt and operates as a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization.

Vision Statement

Since the inception of this ministry, we have fulfilled the needs of numerous families and individuals. The distribution of food bags has lessened neighborhood hunger, and the provision of hygiene bags has made a significant impact. The dissemination of Bibles and uplifting literature has had a positive effect. We have offered prayers for those in our community and neighborhood facing challenging circumstances. Assisting many via phone by providing them with resourceful contacts and information about other agencies and churches has also yielded positive results. We invite you to consider making a donation; whether it’s a one-time gift or a recurring contribution, it would greatly benefit numerous individuals and families.
The Helping Hands Ministry is officially registered with the Secretary of State and is a certified 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to meeting needs and connecting people to resources in their community and beyond, focusing on serving the underserved populations. Our tax-exempt ID is #37-2129896.

  3. Hygiene purses for women (homeless or in need)
  4. Hygiene bags for men
  5. Emergency Utility assistance (subject to available funds)
  6. Hygiene program
  7. Literacy program (books for children)
  8. Free wigs for chemotherapy patients (proof of treatment required)
  9. Women’s empowerment
  10. Emergency Newborn bags (return home bags)
Our vision for The Helping Hands Ministry – Hobbs is to be financially robust and to have an ample number of volunteers to support and collaborate with other ministries in Hobbs and the surrounding areas to consistently aid those in need. We are committed to finding ways to assist, bless, encourage, advocate for, and love others. Our services include offering prayer, goal planning, wellness plans, assistance in navigating difficult situations, establishing healthy boundaries, and providing free haircuts to bedridden individuals residing in Hobbs. To with GOD.

We believe in empowering women to regain control of their lives by fostering self-confidence through the spoken word of God and them knowing that their identity is in Christ Jesus, this takes the pressure off trying to perform or be like anyone else. Many women have medical diagnosis and this has stopped them from taking their rightful places in the kingdom of God; even in what we face sickness, trials, difficult times God has a plan and wants to us to witness his love grace mercy and power, along with resilience, and a sense of purpose .throughout their journey.
